Bastian Lighting

Overview:

The Bastian family resides in a beautiful white house, with a large columns that give it a distinctive classical look. At night however, the beauty of the home and the extensive landscaping surrounding it were hidden in the darkness.

Challenges:

From the onset, the Bastian’s were interested in outdoor lighting, but not entirely sure of how large an impact it could have. In a lighting demonstration, we were able to show them how drastically the right lighting can change a dark environment to one that is vibrant and inviting, “I was very pleased with the lighting design and layout. The Innovative Outdoors staff was professional and the night demo was very helpful in our decision making process”(Anna Bastian). After seeing the possibilities, the Bastian’s wanted the ability to enjoy the visual charms of their home and landscape into the evening hours.

Solutions:

The style of this home is a perfect candidate for architectural lighting. The columns and symmetrical aspects of this classical home provide for a very impressive and dramatic look. By carefully selecting the fixtures ad their locations, we were able to light every prominent aspect on the front of the house, making the Bastian home the eye-catcher of the neighborhood each evening.

The home also has a stunning landscape, especially the elaborate scene surrounding the pool in the backyard. By installing several types of lights in strategic places, we were able to highlight the most prominent aspects of the landscape. As good as the backyard scene looks during the day, it looks spectacular at night, as accent lighting allows the feature specimens to stand out in unison with the pool.

Results:

The Bastian’s custom designed lighting system has made a significant visual impact on the home providing beauty, safety, and security. In the front, the architectural and landscape lighting makes for a stunning display that distinguishes the home vastly from neighboring ones, while the backyard nightscape has been transformed into a beautiful and vibrant setting. Outdoor lighting can truly turn a house into a home, “I couldn’t be happier with our new outdoor lighting, our house looks great at night and it is very inviting to come home to” (Anna Bastian).
